Abstract

This article is the result of qualitative, analytical research, which had as its main instrument an online questionnaire, divided by themes, the first being sociodemographic data, followed by specific questions about Family Dynamics; Occupation/Work; and Health. It aimed to understand how the pandemic and social isolation affected the lives of women mothers in the years 2020 and 2021. It sought to organize the responses into categories about how women felt the impacts caused by social isolation and (re)organized the time between these types of work and taking care of themselves. The research sample comprised 103 participants, female mothers, between 18 and 45 years of age from different Brazilian states. It is important to highlight in the discussion that many women mothers had difficulty balancing motherhood, domestic work, paid work and career during the pandemic, and even with a support network they felt overwhelmed in some way, generating stress, anxiety and/or depression, in other words, a set of symptoms that cause exhaustion and impact mental health.
